CHAS

Care Connect Clinic is a participating GP clinic under the Community Health Assist Scheme (CHAS). CHAS is one of Singapore’s key initiatives that helps citizens receive subsidised medical and dental care.

What is CHAS?

The Community Health Assist Scheme (CHAS) is a programme by the Ministry of Health (MOH) that provides subsidies for medical and dental services at private General Practitioner (GP) and dental clinics.

CHAS helps Singapore citizens manage the cost of:

  • Common acute illnesses such as colds, coughs, and infections
  • Chronic conditions, including diabetes, hypertension, and high cholesterol
  • Selected dental services at approved dental clinics

The scheme is designed to make primary healthcare more affordable and accessible within your community. The table below provides an overview of the CHAS criteria and how CHAS will help defray your medical costs.

To note:

Singapore Citizens who are on ComCare Long Term Assistance (LTA), previously known as Public Assistance (PA), will receive full subsidies for the treatment of conditions covered under CHAS.

  • With effect from 1 January 2025.
  • “Simple” refers to visits for a single chronic condition. “Complex” refers to visits for multiple chronic conditions, or a single chronic condition with complication(s). A detailed list of chronic conditions covered under CHAS can be found in the CHAS brochure and CHAS website (www.chas.sg). Approach the clinic staff for a CHAS brochure today!
  • Capped at 24 visits for common illnesses per patient per calendar year, across all CHAS clinics. For common illnesses, it is not expected that more than four visits per month would be required.
  • Healthier SG enrollees with CHAS/MG/PG cards may choose either the existing CHAS Chronic Tier or Healthier SG Chronic Tier, that would best benefit them based on their medication needs. Subsidies are applicable only at the enrolled Healthier SG GP clinic.

How to Apply for CHAS?

  1. Apply online through the CHAS portal ( https://www.chas.sg/mychas-overview) using your SingPass account.
  2. Once approved, you will receive a physical CHAS card or can access your digital CHAS card via the SingPass app.
  3. Present your card each time you visit a participating clinic.
  4. You can check your CHAS tier or subsidy balance through MyCHAS or by asking our reception team.

Important Information
